As most of you have noticed, the LG Versa sports text-to-speech. Specifically, it can read off the text in a SMS message to you through the speaker with what seems to be the female version of Steven Hawking. However, Steven Hawking's text to speech sounded much like an old school "Speak and Spell" (by the way I hacked one- mine can reprogram Coca-Cola brand vending machines), the Versa's text to speech is a very serious, non-robotic woman's voice similar to VZ Navigator's default voice; without the British overtones.

Send yourself the following text:

"My sprinkler goes chee chee chee chee chee chee chee chee tiga tiga tiga tiga chee chee chee chee chee chee chee."

This will cause you to laugh for no reason whatsoever, and anyone you play the text-to-speech to will laugh and also have no idea why they are laughing. Hearing a computerized voice of a lady who sounds WAY TOO SERIOUS speaking something so ridiculous just seems to cause laughter.

Have fun!

I discovered this last night.  I saw that icon and selected it not knowing what it would do and was shocked when it started talking to me.  Great feature!  I'll have to go try that sample text above.

Yes, it does work on Notepad. I once wrote a stupid song on the Notepad on my enV2, something about a dog and some ice cream, and a line in it was "scooby dooby, poopy scoopy, yeah yeah yeah." I could not stop laughing at the way it pronounced "poopy scoopy," and how emphatic the "yeah yeah yeah" came across! Cheesy Try that line on the Versa; it's the exact same voice as on the enV2, and it's hilarious.
