Hey guys. i found this nifty trick. if anyone needs to go for example to the bottom of the menu, like contacts, you can from the top go down faster than scrolling down. instead, press your thumb down and scroll down. i recommend starting kinda high up. you should see like a small amount of the menu left and then you will see an animation and it will bring you down. i think i tried to make the instructions easier and step-by-step but if this is too complex, basically scroll downwards all the way. also works going to top.

That is pretty cool. It wraps around back to the end of the list. Seems like I accidentally did that on some other device I was playing with once because as soon as I saw it do that, I was like, I've seen that before! But I know it wasn't on a Versa because those just came out this month and I just got mine today!

I have only had the Versa for two days but I can't get the scroll to work well in 'normal' mode, let alone a quick way to scroll to the bottom.

Whenever I try to scroll, I activate whatever command is on the right side.  For instance, just trying this hint in 'Contacts' I called three different people..........and it's getting late here  Grin

I'd appreciate any other hints for newbies.  I know I can use the stylus but I ought to be able to use my fingers, right?

You may try calibrating the touch screen in Touch Settings. Practice lifting your finger from the screen gently as you reach where you want to stop instead of leaving it on the screen until the scrolling stops. If this doesn't help, let us know.

I did calibrate again but no joy in ordinary scrolling.

The problem is that the entire screen is jam-packed.  The online user manual seems to indicate that moving the finger on the right 'black' border will scroll but it does not.  It is just that there is no real estate where a scroll is visible (except briefly and then EXTREMELY thin, thread-thin) and all of the rest has text or buttons that when they are pressed activate a phone call or play a song or whatever.

I know that is the function of a touch screen but I need some design that sets aside some bit for a scroll area where 'touching' will not activate something.

Needless to say, I'm getting pretty frustrated.

It seems that the online manual must be giving you the wrong impression. There is no border area reserved for scrolling. You scroll by dragging your finger down the screen.

You can scroll down by placing your thumb anywhere on the screen, even in the dead center. If you stay closer to the right side you are a LITTLE less likely to inadvertently click on an unwanted icon.
