I know there is another way, but when you have the video recorder on, touch the screen for settings then select the 1st icon in the lower left hand corner (REC).  This is the "Record Time" Icon and select "For Save"
Also, if you have a memory card in, select the 5th icon over and select "External" so you don't fill the phone's memory.

I don't have the Versa yet, but on my phone (env orange) you clikc start a video and then go to settings and set one of the options to for storage not for media messaging. Note* I do not think you will be able to send the message to anyone if it's over 30 seconds. And like the person who answered befor me make sure if you have a memory card that you set the video to be stored onto the card instead of the phone so you don't run out of room.

I haven't tried it personally, but once you've saved the video, select the file and check out the options.
There is an "Edit For Video Msg" option which should allow you to crop, resize, etc. for a video message.

this is confirmed ;P the reason this does that (if its not clear enough) is if you want to send the video from your phone, it has to be under a certain size. anything over 30 seconds is too large to send.

all you gatta do when ur in video go to menu then select the little clock lookin thing and the opptions will be 4 sendor 4 save select 4 save but when u do this it will not let u send videos over 30 sec.
