Type this in like making a call ##lgservicemenu then all 000000 for password This Brings you to the service menu! Not to be confused with the Program menu.
I have noticed that if you go to Media center settings under service menu and click on get it now then click the clear/voice button when its on the white screen the service menu changes color from brown to Cyan. Weird huh? All of the stuff in here does not seem to harm your phone when clicked but, I do see a few delete pem memory I have not tryed so be carefull. There is some cool stuff in here like tests for most phone systems and turning stuff off like the proximity sensor. To go back in the menu you must use the clear button, the <-- button does not work in this menu. So Now I need your help does this menu do anything for us. I see a WAP settings menu thats got to make someone happy!
By the way ##PROGRAM9600 then 000000 acceses the program menu!
Please I need help understanding this menu!
Thanks
Edit Just found a touchscreen point marker that I think is not available otherwise Cool huh? Edit Ok after playing with this setting its weird. There two settings large point and small. small froze my phone afer a time and did not remain on after reboot and my favorite contact shortcuts were gone, owell easy to replace. The large point maker thing makes my versa beep softly sometimes and uses cool collered squares to mark my finger movement. Its kinda like having the browser arrow that marks pointer position alll the time. But also like the small the large pointer does not stay on after turning my phone off and on, the large pointer did not freze my phone. Anyway cool huh? Would there be any practicle purpose this is on the phone?

Thank you, Woodley!  I have been looking for some sort of back-end menus for the versa.  On my Razr, i just needed to type ##DEBUG, and i had one.  I'm not sure of any beneficial uses for these menus yet, but i'll be sure to mess around with them and post any successes.

I am gald someone else thinks this is cool! I was begining to think nobody would comment!
This service menu is designed primaraly to run tests of various systems on your phone. So this menu is very beneficial for debuging problems on your phone and there is a test for virtualy every system, module  and feature. The only fun feature is turning on the touch point indicator.
In the SMS, SMS MO SO folder there is an option for 8k or 13k, default is 8. I really want to know what this is? Also in the sms menu retry count and pending period can be changed to a higher setting.

Hmm, interesting.  I'm wondering if that is the SMS limit for size, but i would have thought that it was moderated by the Verizon servers.  I turned it on, i don't see any immediate differences yet, but i'll keep my eyes peeled for anything i find different.  Thanks again for the discovery Smiley!

I think MO SO stands for mobile social networks, like aim or whatever. so what increase message size or friend list size?
The other two settings in there seems to cause your phone to retry to send a message 5 times instead of 3 if it fails, and the other controls the interval between the retrys, Semi useful.
I also discovered you can turn off vibrate in vibrate test menu, cool if you don't like vibrations I Guess.

I'm... I'm sorry, I must be a little daft here.
Idiot-proofing your instructions:

1. Go to the call screen.
2. Type in "##lgservicemenu" or "##5473784236368".
3. Hit call.  When prompted, go to dialpad and hit 000000.
4. Ta-dah!

That's what I saw when I read your post.  Only, this doesn't work.  Program Menu would be the same, but "##program9600", or "##77647269600".

Now, we both have Versa, so the process should be identical...  What are you doing that you're leaving out of the post, hm?  Specify, please.

EDIT: Are you using the keyboard attachment? because I can't get my phone to let me dial letters.

Mine only works when the keyboard is attached...
I press the letters & the phone replaces them with numbers
Works just fine

OK
I am doing this exactly as the post says with and without keyboard, in vertical or portrait orientation.
using the T9 onscreen keypad. Try typing them slowly. Don't forget the ## first. You dont have to dial letters like a text just the numbers exactly as they are in my original post. with or without the keyboard attached this works every time.

the coolest thing to do works with all lg touch screen phones is go to ##lgservicemenu--> TouchScreen--> TouchScreen Point--> then small dot or large dot... your choice then draw all over your screen. this setting goes away if your phone is turned off or you can simply go back to this setting and click off instead of small dot or large dot.
