Silicone CASE BLK by verizon review
Hey so I officially got one of the first silicone cases in black i dont think the Black is even available online yet but if you go to the store they can oder one for you with free 2nd day shipping to your home address from fedex. I got a 20% discount for some reason so Id ask them about that I just gave my account number the original price was 12.99 I got a 3.25 discount so it totaled to 9.74 (w/tax 10.40) plus free shipping so who's complaining.
Honestly i hate these cases but the Versa is to smooth and small for my hands and i fear dropping it everything i go out w/out the qwerty keyboard attached.
the Design of the case is really nice its not a 3rd party accessory so all the button placements are there for (camera key, volume, lock, Send/Clear/End). It has cut outs for the Mic, usb port, headphones, and the little dangley pen/strap thing which i like and keep on because its stylish even though its not stylus (hahah get the pun stylish/stylus???) and one square for the speaker and a separate one for the flash/lense set.
My only gripe with the case is that the mirco SD slot is completely covered meaning you'll have to remove the case every time you need that little card. most of us dont care, But personally i use that card with a usb adaptor  and have my dissertation and all my research saved on it so its in and out of the phone quite often.

Other then that I've seen the other cases (3rd party/silicone) and they are made from a thiner less dense material which makes them see through when stretched also key placements are wrong if there at all.
This case from verizon is a little chunky, because its thick, and dense. Im not worried about talking in the rain with this case on or accidentally dropping my phone once or twice.

I'd give it a 4/5. minus one star because its only flaw is that its too thick but that also keeps my phone prime so i cant complain.

I was thinking about buying this black silicon case for about $5.00.

Is this one of the ones were the rubber is to thin?

from this view (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/3156ByDSh6L._SS400_.jpg) that looks real thin and crappy.
I'd be more concerned with the fact that it has large cut out for the buttons when the buttons aren't even where the cut outs are.

and yeah that doesn't look like a SAFE cover unless you like the style and thats what your going for but compare the pic http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/3156ByDSh6L._SS400_.jpg
to this one. the one i have in white/clear

obviously see what i mean about the thickness issue? if you look hard enough you can see the outline of the phone and see how thick it is, btw the case fits real snug no gaps anywhere.

If only they could lower the prices just a little bit. I hate paying more money for something sold by Verizon when I know I could probably get it cheaper.  Undecided

I just got this case to replace verizon's white one.  It is pretty bad quality and loose.  Do not get it!

I was considering onrdering the black silicone case when I ordered the game controller, but I decided to put it off.  Because of your review, I placed an order yesterday . . . should have it Friday!

The Verizon Wireless Black Silicon Case is terrible when it is placed in your pocket. It collects every possible bit of dust, fabric, etc that is in your pocket. Does anyone else have this problem, or know of a substance to apply to eliminate this?

I've had my silicon case for about a week now and I have to say that I absolutely love it.
I also have the clear plastic case, but decided to try the silicon one.
The problem with the hard plastic ones (I had the body glove for the Voyager), is that tiny particles get trapped between the case and the phone which create an abrasion.  My Voyager has scratches all over the chrome, and the same started to happen with my Versa.
I am familiar with the "lint phenomenon" with textured cases like the rubber/silicon.  However, I ALWAYS cary my phone in a hip/swivel case.  I've ruined too many phones by forgetting they are in my pocket.  Especially a phone with an exposed screen, I prefer to have it on my hip.  The hip case option in combination with the silicon case eliminate the "lint phenomenon."  Otherwise, I am not personally familiar with any application to prevent lint.  I'd be concerned that if I were to use an applicant, it would get all over my phone.
The silicon case originally had a chalky feel to it, but wore away after about a week.
For $10 to $12 I'd recommend this case (from Verizon) for anyone even remotely interested.
The way I see it, if you end up not liking it, you aren't out too much money.
Thats just my 2 cents and I hope it helps you decide!

just like that hard case the silicone case will trap grit/sand/ lint and scratch your chrome all up.
It happened to my fiances chocolate. it is a trade off though weather to have tons of minor scratches under a case where nobody sees them, or a few big dings from dropping. the anser is the keyboard, but that seems to wear out quickly and not everyone likes it. what a conundrum.
