New Qwerty?

NICE! Its worth a cookie if you do! Please post even if its the same, I want to know!

Well, my store who has continued to act like they can't order it, and it will cost me $50, finally gave me the SKU for it.  I simply went on the website and typed the SKU in (LG9600QWRTY1), and it comes up for 29.99...  How did their system consistently show $50??  Anyway, there's no pictures of it closed, only open on the phone from a front view, so I can't tell whether this is the grainy or the smooth one, any way to tell, or should I just order it and hope for the best, knowing that I can send it back if its not?

MY KEYBOARD IS IN! I am going to get it now. From what they told me on the phone, there is a FN key added.

Alight I have it. It is exactly the same but the new soft leather is a lot better and it has the strong leather smell to it. It feels really nice in the hand, I mean really good. and it looks good to.There is no FN button, the inside is exactly the same. Also the part where it opens up, the little crease that sticks out is smaller. I also think that this is real leather and not pleather. The smell is really good and it smells like real leather. None of the screens are different. The only difference is the outside. But if your leather is wearing I suggest buying this one. My other one was call ripped. It might be just me but the keyboard itself seems a little smaller and the keys a little thicker. Not sure about this. I wish I had my other QWERTY to compare it with but it was unusable and I threw it away.

Very nice, I'd love to get one like that!  Thanks for throwing up the pics and the serial #.  I have to ask, though, is that the same one thats shown on the website for 29.99, with the part # LG9600QWRTY1?  Or did you have to specially request it, and pay $40 for it?

I specially ordered it, I called my local Verizon and I ordered it.

acq10uaz does the new qwerty have the same module screen? Specifically are the module shortcuts the same calender, email, browser, mobil IM, notepad and new Msg in that order in landscape?

Well, I talked to customer service today about something else, and inquired about the keyboard.  The lady said she only saw the one part # that's shown on the website, with the part #: LG9600QWRTY1, for $29.99.  She said that if there's a new version, that should be it, and if its not, I can always return it.  So I went ahead and ordered it, and its already on its way and should be here tomorrow, so we'll see whether I get the updated smooth version or not...

I know the keys are the same, but I saw no other option, just the 29.99 one.  I asked her to look around, and she only found the 29.99 one.  No one at my store, nor the CS rep, nor myself, could find anything about a second version, just the 29.99 one on the website.  If I get the keypad tm and its the grainy one, where and/or how do I get the smooth version?
