Verizon sells a couple of hard shells and they're not listed on their site.
I had seen this posted on another site (by stormteaser19) but, for some reason, I wasn't able to order it using the product code/ID, so I gave up.
This weekend I was in my local store updating my gf's Versa to V04 and it just so happened that they actually had both the silver/chrome and pink/chrome hard shells, so I picked them both up:

The pics I took don't truly represent the finish, but these truly are VERY reflective.
I'd say 98-99% like a real mirror.
Here's a link to a few more pics I took, including the pink one and the barcode/product code:
https://www.photoshop.com/express/index.html?user=kevinbakon&galleryid=a0d1b154cb294487a254436567d263ae&wf=share&trackingid=BTAGC

They are a VERY tight fit, and difficult to remove.
However, I have since discovered that there is a trick to getting them off easily.
Although the chrome will eventually start to scratch, the plastic itself seems VERY durable.
I personally like the way the phone looks with this shell, and btw, this cover is the slimmest I've tried so far.
In other words, the shell adds little to the overall size of the phone (slimmer than the silicon case I used previously).

Also, I noticed that the package from Verizon credits a company called Technocel, so I looked them up on the net.  Below is a link to Technocel's product site.  There is one other "tire tread" skin that I am considering buying and hopefully they'll have more to come.  However, ordering one of Technocel's products through Verizon may be an obstacle.

Is it thinner than the clear hard case from Verizon? I'm not a big fan of the bulk the case adds to the phone. How much were the cases?

Yes, I also have the clear one and don't like the bulk it adds.

I believe they were $19.99, but any Verizon store can give any customer 25% off of all accessories if you talk to the right person, so $14.99

what is this secret method of removing the shell you speak of?
If you look around the edges, you'll notice a that all the slots/gaps seem to serve a purpose (buttons, lanyard/strap, mic, USB & card slot).  That is, with the exception of the gap on the bottom at the right.  There is nothing on the phone that needs this gap/opening.  (On a side note, my clear shell is not designed this way, but I usually don't have any problems getting the clear one off.)
If you insert a coin (or something flat and smooth), and slightly and carefully twist in one direction, the shell comes apart effortlessly.
****Be careful though that the coin does not slide across the phone itself.  It you apply any pressure towards the phone, you could accidentally go through the shell and scratch your phone.

Edit:  Another method for easy removal is to drop it on a hard surface (like concrete), on the edge or corner from about 3 feet up  Grin That's what I accidentally did  Sad . . . and btw, the phone survived the fall 100%, so the case did it's job with minimal damage to the case itself  Grin
