Ok, so I just got my Versa a couple days ago... I had no idea how to get music on my phone or as ring tones. I spent a day on this site and found all the necessities of getting your phone able to play ring tones and receive tones from your computer...

Getting music off your computer to your Versa:
First you need to modem driver...

LINK: http://www.lgmobilephones.com/uploadedFiles/LG_Mobile/PhoneAssets/_Drivers/Verizon/LGUSBModemDriver_Eng_WHQL_Ver_4.9.4_All.exe

Next, install the driver... LOL Don't forget to have the phone plugged in!
Lastly, go to your menu button and select "Media Center", "Music & Tones", "My Music", then there are 3 buttons on the top of the screen, the third one says "SYNC". Open Windows Media Player, and go to the Sync option on Windows Media Player, then click the SYNC button on your Versa.

You now can build a playlist to sync to your Versa. Careful, there isn't a ton of internal memory.

Now to Create your own ringtones WITHOUT having to sign up for ANYTHING!

First you need to Download the following two programs

The first program is called Audicity. It's a simple music editing tool.

LINK: http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/files/audacity/1.2.6/audacity-win-1.2.6.exe/download

The second is the exporting codec so you can export your new and finished ring tone into the .mp3 format.

LINK: http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/Lame_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_Windows.exe

Now for the info on how to use these programs...
First install Audicity, then install Lame for Audicity.

Open Audicity
Click in the top left, File, Open... then where ever your music is located, then open the song you want.

You will notice the blue wavy bar. That is your song.
To cut the part of the song you want.... CLICK AND HOLD at the beginning where you want you clip to start, then drag the cursor to the end where you want the clip to stop.

This selection has just highlighted the clip you want.

Now go to EDIT, Trim.

The Trim option will cut EVERYTHING away from the song EXCEPT for the highlighted section.

(Don't worry, it won't actually delete or mess with anything from the original file)

Now that you have your selected ring tone clip... you need to export it into an .mp3 format.

Go FILE, Export As MP3... it will then ask you to install the Lame Codec (or locate, dunno if it will ask you) which is located Local Disk:C/Program Files/Lame for Audicity

You will see a file named lame_enc.dll
That is the Codec
Click OK and double click the lame_enc.dll

You can now export the file as an MP3

It will ask you where you want to export the file to... Just export to the desktop, makes it all easier to find...

Now that you have your ring tone created... it's time to get it sent to your phone Cheesy about time right?... Tongue

Go to...
LINK: http://www.voyager-lg.com/contact/sendSMS.php

Put in your phone number, don't put a 1 in front or anything like that, just the normal 10 digit number without dashes

Then click the Browse button and search for where ever you exported the ring tone to... click Submit... ANDDDD YOU JUST MADE A FREE RINGTONE!!!

Also!!! If you want to get any song in the world... Use Mozilla Firefox and get the add-on called Video DownloadHelper

(YES THERE IS NO SPACE IN BETWEEN "Download and Helper).

If you can't find it, go Firefox.com, Add-ons, Search Box, enter Video DownloadHelper... bamo! first search result that comes up!

Install the download helper, it will ask you to restart firefox, do it.

Go to Playlist.com to search for songs, once you've found the song you want, click the play button next to it.

You need to let the song load completely so you can download it!!!!!

To download the song, right next to your Address bar is 3 colored balls rolling around... red, yellow and blue...

To the RIGHT of the balls is a LITTLE TINY arrow facing down...

CLICK IT... Your song may not come up named correctly... The LAST option on the drop down box IS the song you have let load.

Click it! Save it somewhere... Like in your music folder...

TADA!!! Free music! Also works with Youtube.com

That's my bit on getting stuff done with my new Versa... BTW ALL THIS STUFF IS LEGAL!

If you have ANY question on how to get this stuff to work... Let me know via a post here...
Hope I have helped anyone that is lost on how to do this stuff Cheesy

or you could just go to http://www.zedge.com and download to your computer or send directy to your phone.

If you download to your computer you can easily just transfer via Bluetooth. Seems so much easier!!!!

Rocketfish sells a very nice micro USB to Bluetooth adapter for $23.00 including s/h. Make sure you get the RF-BCDM4. I have it and it works flawlessly on Win 7 x64. Use the latest driver from Broadcom and not the CD that comes with the package.
