Hiya,

Every time I connect my macbook pro and my versa they get a long nicely and I can use Bitpim without any issue until I disconnect.

After which point, they consider themselves paired but cannot connect to each other outright.  I can use the bluetooth to send files or get files through the OS.  But Bitpim gets won't work unless I break the connection between the computer and the phone and reestablish it like it was a new connection.

Does anyone know if I am doing something wrong?
or missing a step?

thanks much

Hi.  I have a similar problem with the handsfree in my car.  I can't get the Versa to automatically connect and disconnect (as my RAZOR did).  I have to turn off the bluetooth, turn it back on and then touch the car icon every time I get back in the car.  Anyone else experiencing this or know how to fix???

Hi I am having the same problem.

Went from LG Chocolate to LG Versa and Blutooth won't auto-connect anymore. I have to Turn Off the bluetooth power first, then turn it back on, and then connect every time. Really annoying. The LG Chocolate worked perfectly.

I am also experiencing trouble trying to pair my ( just received yesterday) Versa with my DEHP7000BT Pioneer head unit in my car. I just replaced my old phone, which was a Motorola W385, and it paired automatically every time without fail and loaded my phone book initially in a flash. I can get the phone to say it is connected but the head unit says it isn't. Also nothing shows on my Versa about phone book transfer, etc. Am I looking in the wrong place maybe?

From other forums it appears that the problem is with Verizon in their programming of the new phone, hopefully some tech will read our complaints and make a change in the software, but it is doubtful I think.

Anyway, it seems we are not going to go hands free with this phone anytime soon, darn it, unless some other company like Sony comes up with a foolproof Bluetooth pairing head unit that will adapt to the Versa programming.

It seems that it's a LG / Verizon programming problem.

In the Versa manual, it says once paring is successful, either select "Always Ask" or "Always Connect" for how you want Versa to connect to the paired device.

However, we never ever got that option with Versa. So its definitely a programming error on LG or Verizon. Now you have to manually connect every time....what's the use of having a hands free if I have to keep doing that all the time.

Well, I wrote to Verizon and got the following stroke job for a reply to which I sent a reply requesting just what radio head units they have actually paired this phone with, or if they ever have even tried. I will post it when it comes in. My radio is only a year old so he is off base there:

Thank you for contacting Verizon Wireless through our website. My name is Gerardo. I am sorry for the delayed response to your email, but I am glad to address any and all of your questions regarding pairing your cars Bluetooth to your LG Versa.

Harold I sincerely apologize for any frustrations you may have regarding your cars Bluetooth not pairing with your Versa. However though most Bluetooth devices are "Universal" some are simply not compatible with certain devices, particularly the older the Bluetooth gets. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

In closing, I hope that this information answers all your questions and concerns at this time. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to assist you today. I really appreciate your business and thank you for using Verizon Wireless. If you have additional questions or concerns, please reply to this email.

Sincerely,

Gerardo

Verizon Wireless Customer Service

Pioneer replied and said to call them and talk to a tech so that is my next move tomorrow in that area. It is inconceivable to me that Verizon and LG would market a product of this type that will not pair with a head unit successfully. Has anyone out there had any luck, and if so with what radio, please?

Well, after calling Pioneer and further research we Versa owners are just going to have to wait until we create enough demand for the new 2.1+EDP Bluetooth technology that is in our phones to be incorporated into more products.
They said that as of this time there are no plans to upgrade older units and nothing about a new unit with the new technology, bummer. However I see news that Pioneer is coming out with a new head unit soon that may have it installed, no time of release date yet. If anyone hears anything, please let me know.
Apparently this is the reason pairing with any older product has been such a problem for others. When the standard becomes common place in the market, which it eventually will, then our phones will be able to have easier pairing with no need for security coding, etc. unless desired. For now the only guarantee is to look for the technology in any product before you purchase it to go with your phone. I found a new headset that has it plus voice commands on Amazon which I am contemplating as a substitute for my car stereo until the new ones are available.
Why LG and Verizon did not inform the public is beyond me, except that maybe it would have decreased their sales. Also I am really upset that Verizon's reps and LG's can't, or won't, give out this information when queried in emails and on the phone. If I can research it on the net then surely they could, too? Oh, well, live and learn, I guess, hunh?

My Versa's addressbook wouldn't transfer at first then all of a sudden it worked.  Everything is fine now.  I'm about to install the newest Sync Update released last week and crossing my fingers that it doesn't jack everything up!
