I don't know if this is in the right category, but it says "browser and touch navigation", and there isn't a specific touch screen category, so I decided to add this post here. Basically, yesterday my Versa was working fine, when I woke up this morning due to to alarm I set on the Versa, I found that I couldn't turn it off, after I bit of messing around, I saw what the problem was, the touch screen was completely unresponsive. The hardware buttons still work, but the screen is completely unresponsive, also the screen won't turn off, the LED will turn on and off occasionally, but the screen won't. I can't calibrate it, because there's no way to get to that option in the Touch Settings without using the screen. I checked the back and there is not water damage according to the stickers. I haven't dropped the phone either, It was working completely fine less then 12 hours ago! I've had this phone for about a year, and I'm pretty sure the warranty ran out. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

the same thing happened to me. mines started to stop working off and on.  recalibrating helped for a few days. now my touch screen has completely stopped working altogether. cant get to any settings to calibrate.  to make matters worst, my inbox is full because i can't delete my messages.  so now i can't get any text messages.  the voice command function allows you to say "ERASE OPTIONS" but then you cant "tell" it to erase anything. i contacted Verizon and they couldnt do anything about it.  not even tap into my inbox to delete my messages.  this is the 3rd Versa i've had in 1.5 years.  the first 2 kept getting extremely hot and had a burning smell.  come to find out it was the KEYBOARD causing it.  got another keyboard.  no wonder why they dont make this phone any longer

Same thing happened to my phone.  BUT I stumbled onto a fix that worked for me.  Hard to believe this, but holding the phone over a heater vent to warm it up brings the touch screen back to life - for a little while.  Discovered this in the car on a cold morning.  Also works using a hair dryer for 10-30 seconds...weird, eh?

Anybody know why this works?
