Oh wow I just noticed that the drawing pad isn't laggy anymore in landscape and opposite landscape mode anymore!!!!!! I'm guessing this was as a result of the fixes in V04 . Cool nice spot! It is tough to pin down the improvements of v04

Greetings, I went to my local Verizon store to get upgrades on both my wife's and my phones. I was surprised to find the the tech installed V04 on both. I inquired as to what was included and at first it was "just some fixes", until he realized I knew what I was talking about. He then brought out the tech data and told me that V04 was an "emergency fix" to fix a 'bricking' freeze that was exacerbated by V03. There were a bunch of other fixes (as noted above) that were ready for release, but most importantly it was the brick freeze that drove its release. I pressed a little more and was told that after V03 was installed, the power cycle (on/off/on) if done too fast would freeze in the off condition. So an interim workaround til you can get V04 is too give it 20-30 secs between power states.
good Luck , gramps

i did mine there are numerous links to tutorials on here but i will post a few basics you need the latest firmware bin posted above it has more in there to do a full phone reload but as far as i know it isnt neccisary only the bin file is needed the driver off lg's website lgnpst found at numerous sites one i got was found on rapid share it is 1.1 by carson you need the lg generic 1.0.5.01.dll file and the lg vx9600.dll file i used ones off the http://www.mobile-files.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=102 you will need to register to see the files it also helps because you can use the search feature there... then the cord it came with and your phone as well as a computer with usb ports i suggest ones that are onboard the motherboard or at least directly connected dont go through a hub or any thing... then it is pretty easy from there the generic dll is required to register the 9600 dll they have to be in the same folder they will allow lgnpst to see the versa and recognize the lg driver for the phone needs to be loaded so your computer and phone can talk to each other over usb. from there it is as easy as pointing lgnpst to the vx960v04_04.bin file and clicking start then not touching anything while it flashes your phone... Can you post a link to the lg generic 1.0.5.01.dll file I already have the lg vx9600.dll file

Actually nevermind, I forgot that the drawing pad was laggy with the qwerty keyboard on, it still is, occasionally it seems a little faster but I'm not certain on that.

FYI, somewhere in either V03 or V04 the web cookies improved. My yahoo email now requires far fewer logins as in the past. I'm on V04 now and hear that V04 was an emergency fix for V03 lockups, unrelated to cookies. Mebbe it was V03 that things improved?!

With my first Versa that I returned within a week it would only load a few web pages at a time then it would have an error and I would have to clear the cache to continue surfing. When I got my second and last Versa it no longer did this. Not shure what the first versas software version was but it could have been V01 because I had V02 when I got my new versa. I now have Vo3 and I am having the same experience with the cookies I have to enter them much less but I also am surfing less and sticking to my core favorite sites more.

Can someone provide an alternate link to these files: the lg generic 1.0.5.01.dll file and the lg vx9600.dll
These have been repeated throughout this thread as necessary to firmware upgrade to ver. 4, along with LGNPST. I have been waiting for days for admins to activate an account at mobile files forum to access these to no avail.

A friend of mine tested out my Versa , and enjoyed his experience.
He is going to the store with me today to pick one up. Therefore I will be upgrading to V04.
Hopefully V05 will be big, and have my new fixes and innovative features that will increase is functionality even more!
I love my versa.
