LG Versa - Keyboard not functioning...

I'm having some troubles getting my keyboard to hook up properly. I'll fit it into the slots and the screen will switch to landscape for about 5-8 seconds before going back to its original form. I've tried to text and it won't even register that the keyboard's attached. The front buttons don't work and with that front screen, it's only blank.

Anybody have any ideas on how to make it work? Do you think it's my phone with the problem or just a defective keyboard? I don't really want to go into the Verizon store to ask them because I'm afraid they'll be useless since the Versa's been discontinued. Would it be worth it to even ask them?

hey i would also share my problem with the cell..
Does anyone know how to enlarge the touch QWERTY keyboard? I am having some trouble texting with it. For example, I will press a letter and it will either not recognize which one I pressed or it will just type the wrong one. Anyone else having this problem?
