I recently got an 8GB microsd from amazon.com. One I put it into my computer and look at the memory it has it says I only have 3.39. Is my memory card fake? If so what do you recomend I do? Or could this just be a problem with the computers I have tested it on?
Note* I do not have anything on the card. I erased everything to see if it would make a diffrence and it did not.

My guess is that your computer can only read SD cards up to 4 GB. Try getting a USB SD card reader that can read SDHC cards.

So my microsd could actually have the 8GB but it only shows up to 4GB? Can I still fill up the entire card even if it only shows that I cna fill up 3.39GB?

+1, try a different card reader.
After you get a new reader, format the card in your phone to obtain full capacity of space.
You will only be able to use 7.## or possibly 6.##, not the full 8GB.

Since you're in the Versa forum I will assume you have a versa phone.
If you put the microsd card into your versa and plug the USB cord in, set it to USB mass storage mode and you can access the card like that. If it still doesn't show that it's 7-8GB then I'd contact amazon for a replacement.
The versa can act like a card reader for the microsd cards.

I don't actually have the Versa yet I'm getting it in 5 days. Thank's anyways, it's good to know that when I do get the Versa I will be able to use it as a card reader.

Yeah, keep in mind that 8 decimal GB (8,000,000,000 bytes) is actually 7.45 binary GB.

"+1" in a forum means "I agree with the above statement" or "add one opinion to the above statement"
Example:
Quote
I hate chedar cheese but love swiss cheese.
+1 (= I also hate chedar cheese but love swiss cheese.)
 Grin Grin Grin
It's a quick way of adding your vote.
As far as the phone being a card reader . . . . +1
Personally, I also own a card reader.
Occasionally, when you purchase a memory card, it comes with a card reader.
I keep my cable and charger @ home, so when I'm at work, I transfer files via the card reader or Bluetooth.

I pruchased a sdhc card reader and I can still only use the 3.39GB's of space. I even tried using the phone as a mass storage device with no luck. Im pretty dissapointed.  Sad

I would have to say, then, that your MicroSD card is fake, or at least either defective or mislabelled. I would advise you to get in touch with the person who sold it to you immediately.

I'm not really sure as to how I would let amzon know that mine may be fake?
