i have the phone and i came from the alias ;P

i was actually considering this phone, the dare, or the voyager. the sales person told me lg took all the good features of the voyager, dare, and the env2 and put it in this phone. if your contract is up in may, thats not too far away. the price will drop at least. also, that will give time to get some software updates so you will probably have themes and some fixes as well =)

Cobija...you get the extra $100 off if you are the master line.  In our family, I use the upgrade of my sister who is the master line and can get the LG Versa for $100.  Without it, I use my normal upgrade and get it for how much you paid for it.

oh verizon. tricky people.

LG Versa or LG Dare?! I can't decide!

armo, i suggest one thing to you. go to the verizon store and do the following:

1. play with the LG dare - 5 minutes

2. play with the LG versa -  5 minutes

3. go ask a sales rep to help you out. basically, the sales rep told me lg took all the good things they liked from the dare, env2, and the voyager and put it in the versa. btw, versa has a way better responsive touch screen for one, and secondly, cooler UI. but the downside is that the versa has a 2.5mm headphone jack and a 2.0MP camera. but the 2.0MP has techonologies that make the picture look alot better. with the headphone jack, unless you dont have an ipod or mp3 player, is ok. plus, 2.5mm headphones are not that expensive. basically also, you have the option on the versa to have a pysical OR virtual qwerty keyboard. on the dare, its only virtual. hope this helped =)

I would suggest the Versa, like cobija said. I personally would not use the camera often, and a have a ton of 2.5mm headphones. The UI is more advanced, even if it just looks cooler. You can switch between shortcuts, home and favorites, which I think is cool. The phone will definitely be the one getting the updates, too, because verizon is going to want people to purchase this one instead of just updating there old voyagers and dares. I have heard rumors about new modules, too, like speakers, game modules and other things. I also hope that they will make a new qwerty keyboard attachment that looks better and has more use when it is closed.

one other thing to support for what echo moon said about updates for this phone is that people for the lg dare are STILL waiting for visual voicemail and guess what? that feature came with the versa on the first day =)

ooh..thanks guys.

Yaaah...I went to the verizon store and they couldn't help me too much...but after reading what you guys wrote and thinking for the past few days...I'm gonna get the versa.  Cooler phone...even though that qwerty is somewhat of a turnoff! Make cooler keyboard attachments verizon!

I'll let you know if I'm happy with my decision afterwards...excited though Smiley

visual voicemail should be free too...they need to work on that.

well, they wouldnt just give it for free. everything comes at a price =)

btw, if you dont like it, like REALLY DONT, verizon has a 30-day refund. but since verizon charges for everything, its a 35$ fee to return it. better than a early contract termination

PROS:
-multitasking
-3d interface
-drawing pad
-menu flip like blackberry storm
-external screen on keyboard
CONS:
-only 2 buttons on external front
-space bar in middle unlike voyager on left and right  =(
-cant text on outside of qwerty
-cameras good but could be 3.2 or higher mp
-numeric keypad on touch is small to text on (wish you could get rid of the write button)

I would have to say the 2.0 Pixel and how you can't really change your theme color from anything other than the solid brown color are probably the biggest problems I can see with the phone. Other than that, I'm falling for the phone day in, day out.

Yes, everything does come at a price. And I would much rather return my phone for $35.00 instead of an early termination fee. Hopefully I wont even have to consider returning my phone when I get it in 9 Days (almost 8 days.) =)

My two biggest gripes about the Versa are the 2.5mm headset jack instead of a 3.5mm headphone jack and the inability to watch videos in full screen.

I'm fine with the headphone jack since I just use my $30 bluetooth headset anyways. I'll also be fine using the virtual qwerty since my fingers are so small. I'm happy to have a flash for my camera and a little spot to tie my charms on. My friend brought me some back from Japan and I've had to attach them to my Voyagers case all this time (or the useless antenna) lol. I can't wait to get it, hopefully on May 6th. Just need to come up with the what $150 + Tax. Then wait for my rebate. Then I have to scrape together some more $ to get the full version of CS4 now that my trail versions run out. Any one know what the Pixel Size of the screen is? Maybe I can hurry up and make some clocks for it on my remaining 9 days of the trail. Tongue
